Brittany Chestnut emerges as a formidable presence from the picturesque coastal enclave of Newport, Oregon. A left-handed outfielder, Brittany’s journey began on the softball fields of Corban University in Salem, Oregon, where she not only refined her athletic abilities but also cultivated a profound appreciation for holistic wellness and competition.

In 2014, Brittany’s path took a transformative turn when she was introduced to the world of CrossFit. Embracing the challenge with unwavering zeal, she surged through the ranks, making her mark in the fiercely contested Northwest Region with a stellar 12th place finish in her debut CrossFit Open. Her momentum surged at the CrossFit Northwest Regionals, where she clinched an impressive 7th place.

The year 2015 ushered in a new chapter as Brittany welcomed her firstborn, Jai Chestnut, into the world. Undeterred by the demands of motherhood, Brittany returned to the CrossFit arena in 2016 with renewed vigor, securing a remarkable 2nd place in the South Central Region during the CrossFit Open, further solidifying her reputation as a formidable competitor.

But Brittany’s journey transcends mere athletic achievements. In 2016, she showcased her versatility by competing in the USA Weightlifting National Championships, claiming an admirable 10th place in the 58 kg category. For Brittany, CrossFit is not merely a sport—it’s a conduit for personal growth and community. Inspired by the ethos of wellness and the pursuit of excellence, she thrives on the challenge and cherishes every opportunity to elevate herself and those around her.

Following her standout performance in 2016, Brittany’ journey soared as she clinched victory at the Granite CrossFit Games in 2017, solidifying her status as a top-tier athlete as demonstrated her resilience by finishing 2nd and 3rd in the 5.11 Trail Run and Hill Sprint, respectively. Despite a setback during the Cycle event, Brittany rallied and finished the last five events in the top 5, including two 1st place finishes. Her presence at the Regionals at the Cross fit games in 2017 & 2018 further showcased her unwavering commitment to holistic wellness and passion for fitness.

Today, Brittany stands at the pinnacle of competition, dominating the stage at the 2024 CrossFit Games. Her years of dedication, relentless training, and unwavering commitment to wellness serve as a testament to her multifaceted approach to fitness. As a seasoned trainer, Brittany not only brings her athletic prowess but also her passion for empowering others to embrace holistic wellness and reach their full potential.

Meet Brittany Chestnut. One of the nicest down to earth athletes I’ve run across. From what I hear, she enjoys long RUNS on the beach (carrying heavy objects) at sunset, but sorry guys, she’s already taken. Currently competing in the CrossFit Open, I’m thoroughly convinced she’s a serious contender for regionals — might even go all the way. Luckily we were able to steal some time to snap a few quick shots coupled with a little Q&A.

If you enjoy the images feel free to send praise her way. Oh.. and word is, she doesn’t have a sponsor yet. Can you believe that? I can’t. How about we fix that. Q&A is below. Enjoy.

Q: How long have you been in the CrossFit game?
A: “Competitively for two years. And leisurely for 1 year while pregnant and tending to my newborn.”

Q: Did you start out with any other sports?
A: “I played collegiate softball at Corban University.”

Q: What’s your favorite movement?
A: “Burpees and muscle-ups.”

Q: What would you say is your biggest strength?
A: “Strong mind.”

Q: How many times have you been to regionals, and do you see yourself making it there again this year?
A: “Once in 2014 then took a break to have my baby. Absolutely! I see myself going this year.”

Thanks go out to Skyline Crossfit for the use of their facilities, Bradford Kim of Kim Barbell for the use of his room specifically, and last but definitely not the least, Brittany for lifting gargantuan amounts of weight over and over again so I could get just the right shot. You ROCK! Oh, and GO GET ‘EM in the Open!
